Summer Reading Challenge – Leicestershire Libraries

15th August 2018

The Summer Reading Challenge is aimed at children aged four to eleven, and encourages them to keep up their reading skills and confidence over the long summer break. It is run in almost all libraries in the UK and it is completely free.

Go to your local library during the summer holidays – the sooner you go the longer your child will have to read six books. Staff will register your child for the Challenge and give them some fun materials to get them started.

Some libraries will also offer a Mini Challenge, with materials that are safe and suitable for children under four. Check with your local library to find out if they will be offering the Mini Challenge.

Regional variations to start/finish dates and the exact incentives available to collect will apply. Your local library will be able to confirm when and how the Challenge will run in your area.
